Application for NM OT license through the NM Regulation & Licensing Department. Continuing education required annually for license renewal.EXPERIENCE
2 years acute care experience preferred for higher-acuity units (ICU, trauma, neuro). Experience with ADLs and mobility training. Knowledge of hospital equipment such as lifts, splints, adaptive devices. Strong documentation skills in EMR systems.LOCATION

INPATIENT AND OUTPATIENT
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to help clients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working. The OT will assess patient needs, create personalized plan of care, and work collaboratively with healthcare teams to promote independence and improve quality of life.RESPONSIBILITIES
Evaluate patients' physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities through observation and standardized assessments. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve functional skills. Recommend adaptive equipment and train patients in its use. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on strategies for daily living. Maintain accurate patient documentation and progress reports. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other therapists to ensure coordinated care.POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

You will assess, plan, and implement treatment strategies across diverse settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, schools, home health, skilled nursing facilities, and post-acute care environments. Your expertise will help individuals of all ages— from pediatrics to geriatrics— overcome challenges related to disabilities, injuries, or health conditions. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' functional abilities, including assessments related to ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), motor skills, cognition, and sensory processing. Assist patients with ADLs such as dressing, grooming, mobility, and self-care activities to promote independence. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including speech therapists, physical therapists, physicians, and educators—to coordinate effective treatment strategies. Provide discharge planning support by preparing patients and caregivers for ongoing therapy needs at home or in community settings. Work with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities through early intervention programs or school-based services. Document patient progress accurately and maintain detailed case management records in compliance with healthcare regulations. Skills Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to occupational therapy practice. Experience working across various settings such as inpatient units (including ICU), outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, home health services, and schools. Proficiency in developing care plans that address complex needs for patients with disabilities or recovery from injury or illness. Ability to assist with discharge planning and coordinate post-acute care services effectively. Familiarity with pediatric populations including early intervention programs and school-based therapy services. Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disorders in clinical or educational environments. Excellent patient care skills combined with case management capabilities to ensure comprehensive treatment delivery.
