Job Description
Job description Altru Rehabilitation Hospital, part of Altru Health System, is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Occupational Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department in Grand Forks, ND. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered occupational therapy services to individuals recovering from illness, injury, surgery, or living with chronic conditions. You will complete thorough evaluations, develop evidence-based, individualized treatment plans, and deliver skilled interventions that promote functional independence in self-care, mobility, work, and leisure activities. Working closely with an interdisciplinary team—including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, social workers, and case managers—you will collaborate on goal-setting, discharge planning, and continuity of care across the rehabilitation continuum. Responsibilities include administering and interpreting standardized assessments, documenting progress in the electronic medical record in a timely and accurate manner, educating patients and families on home programs and adaptive strategies, and recommending appropriate adaptive equipment or environmental modifications to maximize safety and participation in daily life. You will contribute to quality improvement initiatives, maintain compliance with regulatory and professional practice standards, and participate in student or staff education when appropriate. At Altru Health System, you will work within a collaborative culture that emphasizes compassionate care, innovation in treatment, and a strong commitment to community health and wellness. Employees can expect engaging work with diverse patient populations, regular opportunities for professional growth and continuing education, and a supportive, team-oriented environment that values clinical excellence, open communication, and respect. This position is ideal for an occupational therapist who is motivated to advance their clinical skills, contribute to interdisciplinary care, and make a meaningful impact on patients' functional outcomes and overall quality of life within a leading community-owned health system.
