Job Description
Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students' growth and success as a skilled Occupational Therapist near Sutton, AK. This in-person assignment spans the upcoming school year through May 21, 2027, and is focused on helping learners maximize their potential in a supportive educational setting. Your expertise will make a lasting impact on students while collaborating with educational staff and families. The weekly hours are 37.5, with approximately 1,000 minutes of direct student contact expected. There are three openings, each offering a meaningful, hands-on experience within a dedicated team.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Current Alaska OT Licensure required. TYPE C Certification required.Preferred:
AK (Alaska) Certification. Previous experience in a school-based OT role strongly desired. Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.Role Responsibilities:
Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students per their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Conduct assessments, develop intervention strategies, and ensure effective treatment planning. Maintain accurate records and communicate progress to teachers and caregivers. Work collaboratively with educators, counselors, and parents to support holistic student development. Adapt interventions and equipment to promote student participation in the classroom environment. Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations for accommodations or modifications. In this role, you'll help students gain life skills, improve academic access, and support independence.
