Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity providing direct Occupational Therapy services within a charter school setting near Central Islip, NY. This position offers the chance to work closely with a small caseload of three students, making a meaningful difference as you help them get back on track after a lapse in services since March. As a school-based Occupational Therapist, you'll utilize your expertise to assess and address students' unique needs, collaborating with education staff to foster an optimal learning environment. This role is ideal for professionals who excel in individualized care and enjoy seeing the direct impact of their work.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license for New York State Previous experience with pediatric or school-based populations, preferred Strong knowledge of IEP process and direct service delivery in educational settings Effective communicator who can collaborate with teachers, staff, and families Highly organized, compassionate, and adaptable to changing environments
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct occupational therapy services to three students in accordance with their IEP goals Assess student progress, document sessions, and provide updates to the education team Support student success in classroom participation and everyday school activities Utilize evidence-based interventions to improve fine motor, sensory, and functional skills Provide guidance to teachers and caregivers to reinforce therapy goals during school hours
