Ocean Shipping Coordinator (Imports & Exports) International Freight Transport, Inc. (IFT) — established in 1986 — is a full-service freight forwarding company specializing in global ocean transportation. With over 40 years in business, we pride ourselves on hands-on service, long-term customer relationships, and operational expertise. We are currently seeking an Ocean Shipping Coordinator for our Neptune Beach, FL office to support a 70% import / 30% export ocean portfolio, including FCL, LCL, and Out-of-Gauge (OOG) cargo . This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment, enjoys problem-solving, and takes ownership of shipments from booking through delivery. Key Responsibilities Coordinate end-to-end ocean shipments (imports and exports) including FCL, LCL, and OOG cargo Work closely with U.S. and foreign ocean carriers, trucking companies, warehouses, and overseas agents Communicate directly with customers to provide timely updates, resolve issues, and ensure service expectations are met Track and trace freight, proactively managing exceptions and delays Collaborate with internal documentation teams to ensure accuracy and compliance Organize and prioritize daily workload to meet vessel cutoffs and customer deadlines Ensure shipments comply with TSA, FMC, and other applicable regulatory requirements Support special cargo requirements such as breakbulk, OOG, fumigation, and inspections (as applicable) Qualifications & Skills Prior experience in ocean freight forwarding (imports and/or exports strongly preferred) Solid understanding of international logistics and ocean shipping processes Knowledge of Breakbulk and Out-of-Gauge cargo is a plus Strong communication skills with the ability to manage customer expectations professionally Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-up skills Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team environment Comfortable working under pressure in a deadline-driven role Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) Education College education preferred, with a focus on Business, Economics, Supply Chain, Logistics, or Transportation Foreign language skills are a plus Benefits Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, pension plan, and 401(k) 100% of employee medical insurance premiums paid by IFT Paid time off Company-paid gym membership
