Field Engineer Technician (Hourly) Columbus, OH Operations Columbus, Ohio Holder Construction is currently seeking a Field Engineer Technician to support our Field Supervision in Columbus . The perfect person for this position is a team player who thrives in a challenging and fast-paced yet supported environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of teamwork, the ability to work independently on assignments, handle multiple projects at one time while remaining flexible, and working within tight deadlines. Field Engineer Technician r esponsibilities include operating electronic total station instrument, transit, Auto-level and other surveying instruments. Sets and marks stakes for slopes, grades and other construction purposes. Determines and sets markers. Determines lines, corners, elevations, grades, alignments, angles, positions, and distances. Maintains total station and field book. Maintains survey equipment and tools. This position will provide primary support to our field supervision and must demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks, maintain professionalism, and use critical thinking to solve issues. Ideal candidate for this position will possess 2 years of construction/surveying experience using total station and site levels. High school diploma/GED, complete understanding of surveying math, and good communication skills required. Qualified Candidates must be agile/mobile, remain alert, be able to stand or walk for long periods of time, use fingers, hands & arms to reach, handle and manipulate objects, climb up/down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects, work on uneven surfaces/heights, be able to read/write, have the ability to see & hear well either naturally or with correction. Must be able to lift and carry materials of all shapes and sizes weighing 50 lbs., 75% of the time. Individuals must be able to work in an OSHA compliant safety environment, work outside and must be able to work overtime and weekend hours. Punctuality and promptness are required every day.
