New Model Assistant Quality Manager
Job Description
JOB FUNCTION
Supports the KNA New Model Quality Manager new model programs by developing check fixtures, working with tool shops on designing & maturing check fixtures on time, and ensuring satisfactory operation of the equipment. Creating and supporting New Model documents and contributing to handing off a program to mass production.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develops check fixtures for new model programs, as well as supervise their assembly & function. Set up new check fixtures, and support engineering department, to ensure its satisfactory operation, and instruct others in the proper use of the new check fixtures. Stays informed concerning new manufacturing technology and equipment. Negotiates costs and lead time with tool shops for design changes as needed. Attend trials for new parts, issues findings from trials, and oversees any necessary corrections. Development and certification of check fixtures to achieve quality expectations. Investigate problems on check fixtures, issues countermeasure reports, and follow up to confirm corrected. Provides reports to Manager (NM Projects) for check fixture concerns, maturation status, and schedules. Communicate with vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and tool shops when necessary. Communicates with internal departments within Kamco/KCC/KMA for check fixture PPH and path forward. Analyze part design using Catia to review parts/components for design concerns and to understand Fit & Function of mating parts. Assists with creation of CAD data when needed for parts/components as required. Directs daily activities and supervision of NM Asst Quality Engineer. Responsible for creating and submission of PA documents to customers on time and negotiations related to tolerances Develop and maintain "KNA Check Fixture Standards". Supports SEDB process functions for new model Major change programs to meet end goals established.KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

Prepare materials for meetings and may present this information at meetings. Attend departmental and interdepartmental meetings. Maintains documents and records related to the new model programs. Support the Engineering Department when auditing parts for new model events. Support Kamco Quality when transferring check fixtures to KMA/KCC and training the KMA/KCC associates. Attends company functions and events All other functions deemed necessary by supervisor.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Two-year engineering degree and three years' experience in plastic manufacturing or 5+ years of experience working in Quality and with development of check fixtures.QUALIFICATIONS
- Good written & verbal communication and interpersonal skills. High degree of attention to detail.
- Ability to manage timelines and schedules.
- Knowledge of the company's quality system/policy and quality requirements from the customer.
- Satisfactory work record, including attendance.
- Working knowledge of computer systems (Strong in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, CAD - Catia preferred).
- Has initiative and able to work effectively with little direction and/or few guidelines.
- Willingness to work overtime during the week and weekends when necessary.
- Willingness to travel on a daily basis (when required) and up to two weeks at a time.
- Some overseas travel may be required.
- Must be able to obtain a passport
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time
- Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
- Frequently communicate with others and must be able to exchange accurate information
