Online Sign Language Interpreter - AZ

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. A contract position is available for a Sign Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth services to support a middle school caseload. This role involves providing interpreting services for one student, ensuring effective communication in the educational environment. The work location is in Mayer, AZ.

Key responsibilities:

Facilitate clear and accurate communication between the student and educators by interpreting sign language during telehealth sessions. Collaborate with school staff to support the student's academic and social needs. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards in all interpreting assignments. Adapt interpreting methods to suit virtual platforms and individual student requirements.

Preferred qualifications and experience:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated experience in telehealth interpreting. Experience working with middle school-aged students in an educational setting.
