Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Provides leadership and oversight for production and engineering activities to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations. This role is responsible for executing operational plans, supporting engineering initiatives, and driving continuous improvement efforts across the operation. Partners with the Trek Connect management team to support business objectives while fostering a high performance, engaged, and safety focused work environmentESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Promote a "safety-first" culture by leading huddles, near-miss reviews, and ensuring compliance with all EHS regulationsEngagement Strategy:
Foster a positive work environment where every employee is empowered to contribute to improvement ideas.Performance Coaching:
Mentor supervisors and lead engineers, focusing on professional development and building a high-accountability culture.Recruitment & Retention:
Lead efforts in workforce planning, recruiting top technical talent, and implementing recognition programs to drive retention. Engineering & Technical Leadership Design for Manufacturability (DFM): Partner with product and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure new products are optimized for efficient, scalable production.Design Review:
Oversee concurrent product design reviews to ready new products for industrialization and manufacturing by the production team.Technical Problem Solving:
Apply engineering expertise to resolve complex design issues and production bottlenecks.CapEx Management:
Identify, justify, and oversee the installation of new technologies, automation, and manufacturing equipment to enhance production capabilities.Capability Analysis:
Analyzes production needs for both repeat products and/or design and development products and determine best practices for the production work center approach while ensuring proper resources and equipment are available and suitable to meet customer requirements.Product Expansion:
Collaborate with management team to develop strategies for increasing portfolio of products and streamline customized builds. Continuous Improvement (CI) & Operational Excellence Lead daily production activities to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectivesLean Culture:
Implement and lead a Lean culture, utilizing tools such as 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and Visual Management to eliminate waste.Process Optimization:
Analyze production data to identify and execute cost-saving and efficiency-improving initiatives. Oversee and drive process improvements in Engineering efforts between production, quality, test, and supply chain.Standard Work:
Establish and institutionalize standard work processes across all production lines to ensure consistent quality and output.Audit Support:
Represent engineering and production teams during internal and external audit activities in accordance with AS9100 standards. Key Metrics for Success Safety performance and compliance On time delivery Production efficiency and throughput Quality performance including first pass yield Employee engagement and retentionRequirements:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent Minimum of 10 years of experience in the design and assembly of connector, copper, and fiber optic cable/harness assemblies in the Military and Aerospace industry is required. Minimum of 5 years in management/leadership role of technical personnel required. Certification in IPC/J-STD-001 andIPC/WHMA-A-620
construction standards are required. Certification withMIL-STD-2042
Navy Shipboard Fiber Optic Installation standards is required. Familiarity with electrostatic discharge (ESD) sensitive parts, protection requirements, and related equipment use in accordance withANSI/ESD S20.20.
Familiar withAS9100/ISO9001
Quality Management System standard and able to apply knowledge to internal and external audits when required. Have or obtain Lean 6σ Green Belt certification within 2 years of start dateSKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

Quality Management Standards (QMS) familiarity and ability to apply requirements to company procedures. Capability to specify, qualify, operate and maintain manufacturing equipment, tooling, and fixturing in a customized production environment. Firm understanding of electrical and fiber optic test methodology, comprehension, and creation of test procedures. Able to apply lean manufacturing principles for the reduction of waste and improvement of productivity. Team player able to train, support, and mentor the engineering and production teams as needed. Able to lead teams in expediently solving technical problems as they arise in a fast-paced production environment. Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and possess the fortitude and discipline to drive projects to conclusion in a timely manner. Excellent computer skills including knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Proficient in utilizing Enterprise Management System (ERP), P21 preferred, other similar ERP programs acceptable.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use fax machines, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to walk and operate in production floor environment for long periods of time and wear required PPE when operating on production floor. Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Must have manual dexterity in order to use tools and assemble products or machines as directed.
