Operations Assistant Nestled in the hills of western
MA, Snow Farm:
The New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Operations Assistant to join our team. Snow Farm is a residential craft school that welcomes over 1,100 adult and 80 high school students to its campus each year. We are seeking an enthusiastic team player who is dependable, organized, has great people skills, and can multi-task with ease. If you are well organized and thrive in an environment where every day is different, we want to hear from you! This position will assist in the smooth execution of Snow Farm's craft workshops, summer program for high school students, and special events. This position reports to the Operations Manager. This position is full-time and onsite. During 2 weeks in July, this position will stay overnight during the duration of the Snow Farm Summer teen program. Some evenings and weekends are required to maintain all aspects of operations. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receive applications, review, track references, information and accept high school applications in collaboration with the High School Director
  • Respond to parent and student inquires via email and phone
  • Process payments from parents and partner scholarship organizations
  • During the program, this position will stay on-site and assist the High School Director in administrative tasks, supervising students, and supporting instructors.
  • Coordinate the logistics and schedules of the Seconds Sale Fundraiser along with the Operations Manager.
  • Set up gallery spaces and cashier stations before the sale
  • Assist with coding and moving merchandise being dropped off for the Seconds Sale
  • Work the 3 weekends of the sale and assist with troubleshooting and giving breaks to staff/volunteers
  • Answer the phone and take registrations if Registrar/ Student Liaison is not available
  • Greet and check-in students on arrival nights. Assist with orientation and instructor presentations.
  • Support Work Study participants with training and frequent check-ins
  • Assist housekeeping with preparing rooms as needed on tight session turnovers.
  • Assisting the kitchen to ensure meals are still served during unexpected emergencies
  • In addition, any special projects or tasks assigned by the Operations Manager.
Qualifications Enjoy a fast-paced environment with a variety of daily tasks and challenges Ability to manage time and projects, prioritize and multi-task Excellent interpersonal skills that build strong relationships in a collaborative environment Strong communicator who is effective speaking and writing, knows how to listen actively, and can give and get feedback Strong team player who is flexible in keeping operations moving Has a sense of humor, and understands the mission of Snow Farm Ability to pass a CORI and SORI Compensation $21/hr, 40 hours a week, for an annual salary of $43,000. Benefits include paid vacation, holidays, and sick days; $2,000 reimbursement for medical costs; free home-cooked lunches (when dining room is open); and accrual toward free/reduced workshops at Snow Farm.
