Job Description

At 1 Tom Plumber, we're building a business where people succeed because the systems are clear, the standards are high, and leadership is consistent. We're creating something stable, professional, and scalable — not dependent on anyone's heroics. We're hiring an Operations Coordinator / Dispatch to become the operational backbone of the company, owning dispatch, customer intake, scheduling, job tracking, and office systems as we grow. This role may be hired as non‑exempt or exempt, depending on experience, skill level, and demonstrated ownership of operational systems and decision‑making. You may be based in either office, depending on your location, but you will support operations for both locations, with occasional travel between offices approximately twice per month. Non‑Exempt (OT Eligible) Year 1 total compensation target: $70,000
  • 80,000 Base pay (salary + OT): $60,000
  • 65,000 (based on an average 45‑hour workweek) Performance bonuses Exempt (Not OT Eligible) Year 1 total compensation target: $75,000
  • 90,000 Base salary: $65,000
  • 75,000 (depending on experience) Performance bonuses tied to operational results Final classification and compensation will be based on skills, experience, and level of responsibility assumed in the role.
What You'll Do Dispatch and schedule technicians daily (service calls, emergencies, planned work) Handle customer calls, job intake, confirmations, and follow‑up Maintain accurate job records, work orders, and documentation Track completed jobs to support billing and collections Coordinate between customers, technicians, and leadership (Exempt level) Improve and standardize dispatch and office workflows What We're Looking For 2+ years of experience in dispatch, office management, or administrative coordination Strong organization and multitasking skills Calm under pressure; able to adapt to schedule changes Clear, professional written and verbal communication Comfortable using scheduling, email, and billing or accounting systems Trade services experience preferred (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, restoration) Why You'll Like Working Here True startup environment within an established brand — you'll be in from the beginning and help shape how the business operates as it grows Your opinion, ideas, and work genuinely matter ; you'll have a real voice in building systems and processes Clear expectations and structure — not chaos or constant firefighting Stable, professional company focused on sustainable growth Opportunity to grow into higher responsibility as the company scales Location & Travel Expectations This position may be based in either office , depending on candidate location: Purcellville, VA
