ABOUT THE COMPANY
Design2Build is a full service design through construction firm, working in both residential and commercial spaces. We "Begin with the end in mind," ensuring we address both form and function on each project. Our process of design first, build second, allows us to work through the details of design and budget prior to construction, delivering a more clear vision and more desirable experience to our clients. We believe the build or remodel process should be an enjoyable one! We are seeking a Director of Operations to oversee our operations, streamline processes, and ensure the successful execution of projects from conception through completion.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of our design-build projects. This role involves leading a multidisciplinary team, ensuring effective project management, optimizing operational processes, and driving the overall efficiency and profitability of the firm.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Operational Leadership:
Implement and manage operational strategies and policies that align with the company's goals and objectives. Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of design-build projects, ensuring adherence to budgets, timelines, and quality standards. Manage and mentor a team of designers, project managers and support staff to ensure high performance and professional growth. 2.
Project Management:
Coordinate with design and construction teams to ensure seamless integration of design and construction processes. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to address any issues. Ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. 3.
Process Optimization:
Evaluate and improve existing operational processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to streamline operations and reduce costs. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for various operational functions. 4.
Client and Stakeholder Management:
Oversee partnerships with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Address and resolve any client concerns or issues in a timely and professional manner. Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through effective communication and project delivery. 5.
Financial Oversight:
Oversee budgets for projects and operations, ensuring cost control and financial performance. Manage invoicing process-ensure timely execution. Implement strategies to improve financial outcomes and resource allocation. 6.
Strategic Planning:
Contribute to the development of the company's strategic plan and long-term goals. Identify opportunities for business growth and operational improvements. Support organizational objectives and driving business development initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 3 years of experience in an operations or high level admin role with proven results to manage a process or deliver outcomes with a team Strong understanding of typical project life cycle Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Able to effectively manage multiple initiatives Open to providing and receiving feedback to our team Natural leader, with a positive & collaborative attitude, an entrepreneurial mindset who takes initiative and is eager to create and instill operational excellence for our team Project leadership skills, including the ability to mentor team members, ensuring D2B delivers excellent service to our clients
