Job Description

Position Title Operations Manager Department Operations Reports To General Manager / Director of Operations Position Summary The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily oil and gas operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production activities. This role manages field operations, personnel, equipment, regulatory compliance, production performance, and operational planning while supporting company objectives and maintaining high safety standards. The Operations Manager is expected to provide strong leadership, drive operational excellence, and foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Oversee daily operations for oil and gas production, field services, inspection, IPC, maintenance, logistics, and related operational activities. Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and industry standards. Lead and supervise operations personnel, including scheduling, training, coaching, performance management, and employee development. Establish and maintain high standards for operational efficiency, professionalism, and workplace accountability. Monitor production efficiency, operational costs, and equipment utilization to maximize productivity. Coordinate maintenance and repair activities to minimize downtime and operational disruptions. Develop and implement operational procedures, workflows, and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with management to establish production goals, budgets, staffing plans, and operational strategies. Analyze operational reports, KPIs, and production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Manage vendor relationships, contractors, and service providers. Ensure accurate operational documentation, reporting, and recordkeeping. Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective and preventative actions as needed. Foster a positive and safety-focused work environment that promotes teamwork, communication, and employee engagement. Mentor supervisors and employees to support workforce development, succession planning, and retention efforts. Lead operational meetings and communicate departmental goals, expectations, and performance standards effectively. Address employee relations concerns, resolve conflicts professionally, and support company policies consistently. Assist with capital projects, expansions, operational transitions, and process improvement initiatives. Maintain effective communication between field operations, corporate departments, customers, and executive leadership. Support emergency response efforts and provide leadership during operational challenges or high-pressure situations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field preferred. Minimum 5-10 years of oil and gas operations experience preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of leadership or management experience in oilfield operations preferred. Strong knowledge of oil and gas production processes, safety regulations, and field operations. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced operational environment. Proven experience managing supervisors, field personnel, and cross-functional teams across multiple locations or shifts preferred. Strong leadership presence with the ability to drive accountability, operational excellence, and employee performance. Experience developing, mentoring, and coaching employees to support professional growth and retention. Strong decision-making, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated conflict resolution and employee relations experience. Strong financial and business acumen, including budgeting, labor management, forecasting, and cost control. Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing operational demands. Proficient in Microsoft Office and operational reporting systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Physical Requirements Ability to work in office and field environments. Ability to travel between locations and field sites as needed. Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions when visiting operational sites. Work Environment Combination of office and industrial/field environments. Exposure to noise, moving equipment, dust, and varying weather conditions during field visits. May require extended hours, weekend work, or on-call availability based on operational needs. $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
