Operations Manager Fleet & Field Operations

Position Overview A privately held last-mile delivery company is seeking an Operations Manager to lead daily delivery operations and manage a 50+ vehicle fleet in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who understands route execution, fleet uptime, vehicle downtime mitigation, call-outs, and real-time problem solving . This is a confidential search . Core Responsibilities Lead daily last-mile delivery operations across multiple routes Manage readiness, utilization, and uptime of a 50+ vehicle fleet Coordinate preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, and vendor relationships Reduce vehicle downtime through proactive tracking and escalation Manage same-day call-outs, coverage gaps, and operational disruptions Coach, develop, and hold supervisors and drivers accountable Monitor service levels, safety events, and operational KPIs Communicate operational risks, needs, and improvement opportunities to leadership Required Experience Operations management experience in last-mile delivery or fleet-based logistics Direct responsibility for large vehicle fleets (30+ required, 50+ preferred) Strong understanding of fleet maintenance workflows and inspections Proven ability to lead under pressure in time-sensitive environments Confident, accountable people leader Preferred Qualifications Experience managing 50+ delivery vehicles Familiarity with route-based delivery metrics and performance dashboards Safety, compliance, or DOT-adjacent experience Compensation & Benefits $50,000 base salary Performance-based bonus tied to operational results 3.5-day work week (Wednesday-Saturday) (longer shifts, fewer days) Health, dental, and vision insurance available Subsidized gym membership Attractive PTO policy Clear growth and advancement opportunity Hiring Note This position is part of a confidential leadership search .
