Operator

Machine Operator Seeking a dependable and safety-focused Machine Operator for a long-term contract opportunity with strong potential for extension or direct hire based on performance and business needs. This role is ideal for individuals with previous machine operation or manufacturing experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining high quality standards. Candidates should be mechanically inclined, able to read production schedules and work orders, and comfortable performing physical tasks including lifting, pushing, and pulling materials throughout the shift. The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, basic math and computer skills, and a team-oriented mindset with a commitment to workplace safety, continuous improvement, and consistent production performance.

THE ROLE

Job Overview

• Follow standard work instructions to maintain a safe and orderly work area.
• Have a thorough understanding of the quality specifications of fiberglass skins.
• Operate slitter table and press with some limited robot functions.
• Inspect raw material and skins for quality defects; follow the proper procedures for escalating scrap material.
• Provide hour by hour updates to production boards for area of responsibility.
• Be able to push/pull/lift up to 49 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Must be able to read the production and interpret the production schedule and work orders.
• Will be expected to participate in continuous improvement projects.
• Continuously monitor all operations for quality production.
• Must perform any other tasks assigned by Group Manager.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 1. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on professional business demeanor, communication and customer service. 2. Good math, written skills, and able to read a tape measure 3. Basic Computer Skills - MS Office Work environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and machines, vibrations and loud noises. All safety protocols including OSHA guidelines as mentioned above are mandatory.
