At Fairway Aluminum Solutions, we've been designing custom aluminum railings that create the perfect finishing touch on multifamily and commercial projects for over 30 years. The Operator I performs assigned tasks related to raw materials being turned into sellable finished goods as directed by the Production Supervisor. Responsibilities Completes proper paperwork in accordance with Quality Assurance standards and guidelines. Uses go-no-go gauges to ensure proper manufacturing of material. Inspects, records, and rejects defective parts in accordance with quality standards Tests products for structural defects. Uses saw to cut post and other material. Organizes and cleans shop and materials used. Follow instructions on Work Orders Reports finished goods Accurately packages, labels and bundles finished materials Maintains a clean and safe work environment by following company policies and procedures. Follows all company policies. Promotes a culture of continuous improvement, safe work and trust among team members. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School diploma or GED. Proven experience identifying problems, brainstorming, analyzing answers, and implementing the best solutions. Physical Demands and Work Environment Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time. Will be exposed to dust and fumes. Will be exposed to the elements year-round, including rain, snow, and extreme temperatures. Must be able to move/lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to change position as needed. Must be able to view items in close proximity. Must be able to work around high noise level. Requires manual dexterity to utilize hand tools, handle materials, and package products. Requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time. Requires the ability to bend, twist, and squat on a regular basis. Required Skills and Abilities Ability to work independently with minimal instruction/supervision. Ability to follow instructions Ability to assess work orders and determine priorities. Ability to perform detail-oriented and accurate work products. Ability to perform work in a safety consciousness manner. Ability to obtain and maintain Forklift Certification Ability to verbally exchange accurate information with co-workers. Ability to operate machines and equipment in a safe manner. Ability to properly use manual and power hand tools and small machinery.
