Mt. Carmel Stabilization Group Operator - Soil Stabilization Job Description Position Title Operator -
Soil Stabilization Pay Scale and Benefits:

Carmel Stabilization Group is a leader in soil stabilization and ground improvement services, specializing in lime, cement, and other soil treatment solutions that create strong, reliable foundations for construction and infrastructure projects. Skilled operators are essential to safely and efficiently run heavy equipment, supporting field crews in delivering high-quality soil stabilization work. We are seeking experienced Operators to operate heavy machinery on soil stabilization projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to engineering and project specifications. Position Summary The Operator - Soil Stabilization is responsible for operating heavy machinery used in soil stabilization projects, including : Soil Stabilizers/Reclaimers, Spreading devices, Compaction Equipment, Motor Graders/Dozers, Off-road trucks, etc. Operators work closely with Field Superintendents, Teamsters, and field crews to execute soil stabilization applications, compaction, and grading efficiently and safely. Key Responsibilities Equipment Operation & Soil Stabilization Execution Operate heavy equipment including mixers, graders, rollers, dozers, excavators, skid steers, and chip boxes to perform soil stabilization tasks Ensure proper material placement, mixing, grading, and compaction according to engineering specifications and project plans Assist in site preparation and setup of stabilization equipment Collaborate with Teamsters and field crews to ensure material delivery, application, and equipment use are coordinated efficiently Safety & Compliance Follow all OSHA and company safety regulations while operating heavy machinery Conduct pre-operation inspections and report any mechanical issues or safety hazards Maintain safe distances from other crews, vehicles, and obstacles on site Use appropriate PPE and ensure compliance with all site-specific safety protocols Collaboration & Communication Coordinate daily work with Field Superintendents and Project Managers Communicate operational status, delays, or equipment issues promptly to supervisors Assist in mentoring or training less experienced operators as needed Maintenance & Documentation Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment, including lubrication, fueling, and cleaning Report equipment issues or operational concerns to the Shop or Fleet Manager Maintain accurate equipment operation logs and work records as required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred 2+ years of experience operating heavy equipment in construction or soil stabilization projects Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with earthmoving and material-handling equipment Knowledge of soil stabilization processes, materials, and compaction techniques Excellent communication, teamwork, and attention to detail Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions Physical Requirements Ability to lift, climb, bend, and operate heavy machinery for extended periods Ability to maneuver and operate equipment in rough terrain and challenging site conditions Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, and other variable weather conditions Must be willing to travel 75% of the time Work Environment This position operates primarily on active soil stabilization project sites. Operators interact closely with Teamsters, Field Superintendents, Project Managers, and field crews to safely and efficiently execute soil stabilization applications, including mixing, grading, and compaction operations.Job Type:
