Job Description
Summary of Responsibilities Responsible for Patient flow. Requires good understanding of ophthalmic practice and patient care. Knowledge of medical equipment and the proper care and usage. Ability to communicate to employees. Must be willing to help in all areas and understand the need for efficient use of time. Must be willing to coach an employee and to also be coached. List of Responsibilities/Duties Promptly and professionally assisting the doctor in patient care. Performing technical workups, patient interviews and special testing. Communicating with patients regarding follow-up care, surgeries, procedures, changes in schedule, symptoms, surgery scheduling, etc. Maintaining and cleaning all equipment being used. Report to supervisor if not in working condition. Returning phone calls to patients and pharmacies. Assisting in minor surgery. Maintaining patient confidentiality. Attending required meetings. Provide feedback to employees to encourage growth in career path. Encourages and motivates team. Minimum Demonstrated Skills Efficiently and accurately interviews patients and documents histories.
Accurately performs:
Refractions Lensometry Keratometry Tonometry Visual Fields Amslers Muscle Testing Pupil Exams Topography Has basic knowledge of contact lenses. Utilizes proper eye drop techniques and sterility. Understands and uses proper sterile technique. Utilizes proper universal precaution procedures.Job Type:
