Job Description
Seeking a full-time and or part-time Ophthalmic Technician for our busy ophthalmologist offices. 20-40 hours per week. The ideal candidate must have excellent computer skills, dependable with being at work on time on your scheduled days, able to commute to both locations BURLINGTON, WI and ELKHORN, WI and have an outgoing personality. Escort patients into exam rooms and perform initial part of the exam per physician's instructions Obtain Chief complaint/HPI, Visual Acuity, Glasses correction information. Perform diagnostic testing including auto refraction, visual fields, fundus photos, OCT, Cataract Surgery Pre-Op biometry (IOL master & TOPO) Monitor patient flow by directing physicians to next patient, overseeing physicians' schedules, checking waiting room to ensure that all patients have checked in and are not kept waiting an unreasonable length of time. Assist with minor surgical procedures. Prepare consent forms for signature, organize instruments/supplies, assist physician, sterilize/autoclave instruments. Oversee refills of medications. Set up exam rooms and ensure that they are clean, organized, stocked with necessary medications, supplies, instruments and forms. Oversee functioning of all exam room equipment. Monitor and restock medical supplies and samples. Scribe in the room with a physician during the exam.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
