Job Description

Are you looking to build a rewarding career in the healthcare field? Our Town Eye Care is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our busy optometry practice. Although this is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in optometry or ophthalmology, experience is not required. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with customer service experience who wants to transition to the medical field. Key Responsibilities:
As an Administrative Optometric Technician at Our Town Eye Care, you will play a critical role in supporting the optometrists by providing excellent patient care and performing diagnostic tests.
Your typical duties will include:
Performing pre-examination testing such as visual acuity, color testing, and tonometry Recording patient medical history and preparing them for their eye exams Administering diagnostic tests, such as retinal imaging and visual field testing Maintaining and sterilizing ophthalmic equipment Documenting patient results and managing patient records in the practice's EHR system Communicating with patients regarding their treatment plan and follow-up care Assisting with inventory and ordering of medical supplies Assisting with general office duties, including phone support, check-in/check-out, and contact lens ordering
Qualifications & Skills:
Driven to continuously expand knowledge and expertise Friendly, patient-focused attitude Excellent communication skills Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a busy practice environment Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documenting patient information Basic computer skills and experience with electronic health records (EHR) Willingness to learn and grow with the practice Previous experience as an ophthalmic technician or medical assistant in a clinical or optometric setting preferred, but not required
