Scale House Operator

Position Overview:

Harris Construction is seeking a reliable, detail oriented scale house operator to join our team in Peterborough, NH. This position combines scale operations with customer service and sales support. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Scale Operations:

Operate truck scale system to accurately weigh inbound and outbound loads. Record and process transactions, including tickets, invoices, and receipts. Verify load contents and ensure compliance with company policies. Maintain accurate daily logs and reports. Communicate with drivers to ensure efficient traffic flow and safety.

Customer Service & Sales Support:

Handle phone calls, e-mails, and walk-in customers professionally. Build and maintain strong customer relationships. Assist customers with product inquiries, pricing, and order placement. Process sales orders and coordinate deliveries or pick ups. Support outbound sales efforts and follow up on leads.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in scale house operations, logistics, or sales preferred (but will to train the right candidate). Strong communication and customer service skills. Computer skills (Microsoft office, POS, or ticketing systems). Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment. Attention to detail and accuracy. Dependable and punctual.

Work Environment:

Combination of mostly office and some outdoor yard setting in a sand and gravel pit. Interaction with truck drives, office staff, operators, contractors, and customers daily.

Pay:

From $23.00 per hour
