We are looking for full time day shift OR Circulator Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Team at Vaughan Regional Medical Center! Ask about our $20,000 Sign On Bonus for Full Time positions Vaughan Regional Medical Center is the sole community provider hospital located in historic Selma, Alabama. 1015 Medical Center Pkwy, Selma, AL 36701 Job Summary The Registered Nurse - Surgery (RN-Surgery) provides direct and comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients within an acute care hospital setting. Utilizing the nursing process, the RN-Surgery assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes. This role supports surgical interventions across all age groups and ensures patient safety, comfort, and education throughout the perioperative process. Essential Functions Delivers patient-centered nursing care based on established standards of care and the nursing process Administers medications and treatments as prescribed and in accordance with policy Documents all aspects of patient care clearly and accurately Monitors, evaluates, and communicates patient condition to healthcare team, patient, and family Coordinates and collaborates with surgical and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care Participates in patient transfer, discharge, and referrals as needed Educates patients and families on surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and post-operative care Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients throughout the surgical experience Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations Demonstrated critical thinking, clinical judgment, and decision-making skills Ability to function effectively in high-stress, fast-paced environments Effective communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and team members Competency in the use of electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare technologies Commitment to continuous learning and professional development Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines Physical ability to perform required duties, including lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods Willingness to comply with all organizational and departmental policies and procedures Attends required staff meetings and maintains required certifications and competencies Education Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Licenses/Certifications Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required within time frame specified in facility policy) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (required within time frame specified in facility policy) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (required within timeframe specified in facility policy) Experience Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience preferred Previous perioperative or surgical services experience strongly preferred
