Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-Operating Room Job Type Contract Step into a vital nursing role supporting cardiac surgery cases across a respected healthcare system. This contract opportunity is suited for an experienced Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) skilled in the operating room, especially within cardiac surgical procedures.
Key Qualifications:
Current and valid RN license with RNFA certification Demonstrated experience as a first or second assist in cardiac operating room settings Strong understanding of surgical techniques and instruments relevant to cardiac procedures Proficiency in providing exposure, hemostasis, closure, and intraoperative technical support Ability to perform preoperative and postoperative patient care duties competently BLS and ACLS certifications (current) Strong teamwork and communication skills Ability to participate in regional call coverage as needed
Schedule/Hours:
Flexible scheduling required to accommodate operating room needs and regional call coverage
Primary Responsibilities:
Collaborate under the supervision and direction of attending surgeons during cardiac cases Serve primarily as second assist during cardiac surgical procedures, providing technical intraoperative support Facilitate optimal surgical outcomes through vigilant patient advocacy and technical expertise Assist with preoperative and postoperative care to address perioperative patient needs Respond to call coverage supporting the broader cardiac surgery program Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures
