Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-Stepdown Job Type Contract Advance your nursing career by caring for patients in a dynamic stepdown environment. This contract position seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive and compassionate care utilizing the nursing process, ensuring optimal health outcomes for patients and their families. The role is integral to fostering effective collaboration, clear communication, and innovative leadership on the unit.
Schedule/Hours:
Contract position; specific shift and duration to be discussed during the interview process
Qualifications & Requirements:
Active RN license in good standing Certification in ACLS, BLS, and NIH Proven stepdown, intermediate care, or progressive care experience Nurse/patient ratio experience of 1:5 or 1:6 preferred Ability to float between inpatient areas, including SDU, MCU, Medical/Surgical units, and Emergency Department for boarder patients as needed Strong interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skills Demonstrated commitment to professional development
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver safe and efficient, age-specific nursing care using the full nursing process Implement effective relationship-based care that supports positive patient and clinical outcomes Utilize technical skills in monitoring, assessment, and intervention for stepdown-level patients Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for holistic patient management Contribute to continuous professional growth and evidence-based nursing practices Exhibit leadership that supports optimal clinical outcomes, mentoring peers when needed Complete other RN duties as assigned to support overall unit operations
