Starting at $64,562; commensurate with experience Job Summary The Learning Management System ( LMS ) Technical Administrator will manage configuration, administration, and strategic development of the Universitys implementation and ongoing support of Canvas and Canvas Studio . This position provides support, resources, and training to academic faculty to enhance teaching outcomes through Canvas LMS utilization, requiring continuous collaboration with internal campus partners and external vendors to ensure the LMS is available, accessible, and secure. This position is key in actively seeking out opportunities to improve processes, analytics, and resources to enhance student success and support program assessment initiatives. This LMS Technical Administrator reports to the Manager for Academic Technology Services & Innovation and is key role within the Information Services Team. Core Duties LMS Administration Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day administration of Canvas and Canvas Studio , including user provisioning, course creation workflows, term and subaccount management, integrations, and API -based tools. Configure system settings, manage feature options, maintain data integrity, monitor performance, and coordinate with Instructure on escalated issues. Support LMS -related compliance, data retention, accessibility, and security practices in alignment with institutional policy. Actively participate in system upgrades, feature evaluations, pilot programs, and vendor-supported training. Analyze LMS usage data to identify training needs, improve workflows, and inform platform governance. Faculty Support and Help Desk Coordination Serve as the primary technical and functional contact for faculty seeking LMS support. Coordinate UP and Instructure Support. Support faculty and leadership in accessing data and analytics to support student success and program assessment initiatives. Respond to tickets routed from the help desk; provide Tier 2/Tier 3 troubleshooting for course design, assessment tools, media workflows, and third-party integrations. Coordinate with central IT to refine help desk workflows, knowledgebase articles, and response protocols. Training, Consultation, and Resource Development Design and deliver individual consultations, department trainings, and workshops on Canvas, Canvas Studio, and related teaching technologies. Curate, adapt, and disseminate Instructure-provided training materials. Create self-produced web-based learning resources, including but not limited to tutorials, guides, short videos, and structured modules that can be hosted on the Universitys intranet. Promote effective, accessible, and pedagogically sound use of the LMS through best-practice guidance and proactive faculty engagement. Other duties as relevant to the duties of the position or as assigned by supervisor or designee. Bachelors degree in relevant field.Required:
3 to 5 years professional experience administering LMS and video platforms, inclusive of developing web based instruction/trainings and knowledge of UDL best practices.Preferred:
Masters degree.Preferred:
Professional experience in a higher education setting. Or a combination of equivalent education and/or experience.Certifications & Licenses Preferred:

Ability to lead trainings in a group setting and translate technical information to non-technical users.
