Armed Security Professional (Oregon Military Department) One Security Company is seeking to hire a part time / flex officer for the Springfield/Eugene area to work with our Armed division. This part time/ flex position is guaranteed 21-32 hours per week from September 28, 2026 to November 10, 2026 with the opportunity to fill other vacancies as needed. After November 10, 2026 hours are not guaranteed, at this time, and are on an as needed basis to cover vacancies and vacations. This is a great way to get into the Armed Security field. All armed guards are required to pass a physical fitness test consisting of the ability to run 1.5 miles in 17.5 minutes (approximately 3 minutes per lap) and complete 19 standard pushups in 2 minutes. Access Control & Force Protection:

Control entry and egress at designated Site Access Control Points. Screen all personnel for unwanted and unauthorized individuals. Maintain established force protection measures and conduct thorough vehicle inspections. Limit entrance to authorized personnel with valid government-issued identification. Maintain detailed logs of all entrants, including names, vehicle license numbers, purpose of visit, and duration of stay. Secure main gates during non-operational hours or heightened security concerns.

Patrol & Surveillance:

Conduct random, varied, and thorough roving patrols (foot, motorized, or combined) covering entire facilities, including perimeters, Mission Essential or Vulnerable Areas (MEVAs), key points of entry, vehicles, and aircraft. Maintain constant motion and active patrolling throughout the shift. Verify the security of key points, inspect MEVAs, and report any abnormalities. Monitor Electronic Security Systems, Automated Access Control Systems, Closed Circuit Television, Intrusion Detection Systems, and Security Control Centers, initiating appropriate responses.

Incident Response & Reporting:

Promptly identify and record unauthorized persons on premises. Notify local law enforcement if criminal involvement is suspected or if an unauthorized person refuses to leave. Maintain a daily blotter to record all daily activities and site-specific vehicle checks. Maintain constant communication with the dispatch office. Maintain a constant fire watch, notifying relevant departments if a fire is discovered, and directing emergency responders. Adhere to DPSST guidelines for rules of force, utilizing the minimum degree of force necessary.

Professional Conduct & Compliance:

Strictly adhere to all state laws and statutes, and company security guard activities. Maintain a neat, professional appearance and a courteous attitude. Remain awake and alert at all times. Wear and maintain approved uniforms and all issued gear according to policy. Participate in and pass all required training programs. Sign a non-disclosure agreement covering sensitive information. Utilize company-approved motorized vehicles for patrols at specific sites as required, ensuring vehicles are equipped with amber beacon light bars and alleyway search lights.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum twenty-one (21) years of age High-school diploma or equivalent (GED) Valid driver's license Ability to pass and maintain physical qualifications and physical agility testing upon initial hire and annually Ability to work outside in inclement weather and defend against personal attack Must possess personal qualities of good conduct and character, integrity, dependability, and good mental and physical fitness Ability to effectively use issued semi-automatic pistols (minimum 9MM caliber) using standard ammunition Must possess and maintain a favorable National Agency Check (NAC) or equivalent background check (including DPSST fingerprint, LEDS, and NCIC checks) No felony conviction, Class A misdemeanor conviction, or conviction of any crime involving dishonesty Must not be registered as a sex offender Must pass a specific inquiry into suitability as per the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 for armed security guard employment.

$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
