Job Title:
Order Picker Job Description This role focuses on accurately selecting and preparing orders in a warehouse environment using voice-directed picking technology and material handling equipment. You will build and deliver finished pallets to designated shipping bays, maintain accurate product counts, and meet daily case-picking targets while working extended shifts in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities Use a headset and voice-directed system to listen to and follow order instructions accurately. Operate a walkie rider pallet jack to move through the warehouse and pick products safely and efficiently. Select and pick the correct products according to order requirements and maintain high accuracy in product numbers. Build, wrap, and stage finished pallets and deliver them to assigned bay areas for shipping. Meet or exceed daily case-picking and production targets while maintaining quality standards. Use RF scanners to scan products and update inventory and order information in the system. Support shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading materials as needed. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in a safe and compliant manner. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all warehouse safety procedures. Lift, carry, and move products weighing between 25 and 50 pounds throughout the shift. Work scheduled shifts and remain flexible to work until 1-2 AM when business needs require it. Essential Skills Experience with order picking or order selecting in a warehouse environment. Ability to operate pallet jacks, including walkie rider equipment, safely and effectively. Experience using RF scanners for picking, inventory, or shipping and receiving tasks. Experience in shipping and receiving operations, including handling incoming and outgoing freight. Forklift operation experience, including sit-down forklift equipment. Hands-on material handling experience in a distribution or warehouse setting. Ability to lift and move 25-50 pounds repeatedly during the shift. Comfort working extended hours, including staying until 1-2 AM as needed. Strong attention to detail to maintain accurate product counts and order accuracy. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet production goals. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience as an order selector or order picker in a high-volume warehouse. Experience operating various material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and tow motors. Familiarity with inventory processes and basic warehouse documentation. Comfort working in areas with partially climate-controlled conditions and open dock doors. Ability to adapt to different schedules, including Monday-Friday or Sunday-Thursday shifts. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a warehouse facility in Tennessee that operates extended hours, with order picker shifts typically running Monday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM and tow motor shifts running Sunday through Thursday from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with the expectation of working until 1:00-2:00 AM when needed. The environment is partially climate controlled, though shipping and receiving areas often have doors open, resulting in some exposure to outdoor temperatures. You will regularly use RF scanners, headsets, walkie rider pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment. The role requires frequent lifting of 25-50 pounds and working on your feet for most of the shift in a busy, production-driven warehouse setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Vergne, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $27.00/hr.
