OSP Technician

We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level OSP (Outside Plant) Technician to support the installation and maintenance of fiber optic and copper infrastructure serving a data center environment. This role is ideal for individuals looking to begin a career in telecommunications or data center operations, with hands-on training and growth opportunities. What You'll Do Assist with installation of fiber optic and copper cables in underground, aerial, and conduit systems Support fiber splicing, termination, and testing activities Perform cable routing, labeling, and documentation Use test equipment (OTDR, power meters) to validate network performance Inspect and troubleshoot connectivity issues Maintain accurate records of builds, repairs, and maintenance work Follow safety standards and procedures at all times Work alongside engineers, technicians, and contractors to support infrastructure projects What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED Strong interest in telecommunications, networking, or data centers Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail Valid driver's license with a good driving record Nice to Have (Not Required) Fiber optic or telecommunications training/certification Basic understanding of fiber (splicing, connectors, single-mode vs. multi-mode) Experience with hand tools or construction environments OSHA 10 certification Exposure to data center or structured cabling work Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sandston, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
