Responsibilities Safely operate a range of commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and specialized trucks. Load and unload freight efficiently while adhering to safety protocols and weight limits. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Manage route driving responsibilities across long distances, maintaining schedules and delivering freight accurately. Handle freight securely during transit to prevent damage or loss; utilize equipment such as forklifts when necessary for loading or unloading. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, route changes, or issues encountered on the road. Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, inspections, deliveries, and any incidents in compliance with federal regulations. Requirements Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record. Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery driver experience with various freight types. Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks is highly desirable. Ability to load & unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when applicable. Knowledge of DOT regulations related to hours of service, safety standards, and vehicle maintenance. Strong driving skills with a focus on safety and efficiency over long-distance routes. Physical ability to handle loading/unloading tasks and perform vehicle inspections regularly.
