Job Description
Job Summary This vital role involves coordinating clinical operations, supervising multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive experience in mental health and behavioral health therapies, and a passion for improving patient outcomes. As an Outpatient Program Manager, you will play a key role in fostering a supportive environment that promotes recovery, resilience, and overall well-being for diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults. Duties Lead the daily operations of outpatient behavioral health programs, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards including HIPAA and medical documentation requirements. Supervise clinical staff such as therapists, counselors, case managers, and support personnel to maintain high standards of patient care. Oversee patient intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, treatment planning, and progress monitoring using evidence-based practices like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and motivational interviewing. Coordinate group therapy sessions, individual counseling, child & family counseling, and crisis intervention services to meet diverse client needs. Manage clinical documentation including medical records, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and ensure accuracy in medical terminology and data collection for research or quality improvement initiatives. Develop and implement program policies, procedures, and quality assurance measures to optimize service delivery and patient safety. Facilitate staff training on topics such as crisis management, working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders—including autism—and special education strategies. Collaborate with community partners to enhance home & community care services and support case management efforts for clients with complex needs. Monitor clinical outcomes through data collection and research initiatives to continually improve program effectiveness. Skills Extensive experience in mental health counseling, behavioral health management, or social work within outpatient settings. Proficiency in crisis intervention techniques and crisis management protocols to ensure safety during emergencies. Strong knowledge of medical records management, HIPAA compliance, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical terminology relevant to behavioral health services. Skilled in administering diagnostic evaluations for mental health conditions including PTSD care and working with individuals with autism or disabilities. Expertise in evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavioral therapy, psychotherapy, and child & family counseling. Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams effectively while fostering a positive work environment focused on collaboration and continuous improvement. Excellent communication skills for engaging with patients of all ages—including pediatrics—and their families to promote understanding and adherence to treatment plans. Knowledge of clinical research practices related to behavioral health interventions and program evaluation methods.
