Job Description
Overview NAMI Piedmont Tri-County is seeking a passionate and community-focused Outreach Coordinator to help advance our mission of improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental health conditions through support, education, advocacy, and awareness. This role offers an opportunity to build meaningful relationships, strengthen community partnerships, and expand access to programs and resources across the communities we serve. Responsibilities and Duties Develop and implement an annual outreach plan, including in-person and virtual engagement with key stakeholders through presentations, support groups, educational classes, lunch-and-learns, health fairs, and community events; continually identify and cultivate new outreach opportunities. Meet with consumers, respond to calls and inquiries, schedule appointments, provide support recommendations, and make referrals as appropriate. Build and maintain collaborative partnerships within the community to strengthen programs, advocacy efforts, awareness, and support for the NAMI Piedmont Tri-County mission. Assist in the development of new programs and maintain organized quantitative and qualitative data related to outreach activities and programs. Prepare periodic reports regarding program activities, outcomes, and progress for the Board of Directors and community stakeholders. Support the Operations Manager (OM) and Executive Director (ED) in implementing media relations, marketing, branding, communication goals, and content calendars. Serve as social media and marketing coordinator for the assigned service area by developing high-quality content, growing online engagement, and providing communication, graphic design, and writing support. Collaborate with the Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, train, and place volunteers for outreach, administrative support, fundraising activities, and Drop-In Center operations while thoughtfully aligning volunteers with appropriate roles. Assist the OM and ED with data entry, donor acknowledgments, and fundraising initiatives, including support for Golf Tournaments, NAMIWalks, and related events. Serve as the on-site coordinator for Drop-In Center programs, activities, and facility management within the assigned county. Uphold the mission, vision, values, bylaws, policies, and procedures of NAMI Piedmont Tri-County while modeling compassion and respect for individuals and families affected by mental health conditions. Perform other duties as assigned by the OM or ED. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience Three to five years of experience in nonprofit organizations, mental health, public health, human services, social media, marketing, and/or program coordination preferred. Experience working with diverse populations and developing community partnerships is required. Specific Skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Adobe products, and social media platforms. Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively amid changing priorities and ambiguity. Strong project management and organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to obtain Mental Health First Aid Instructor certification within one year of employment. Personal Characteristics Empathetic, patient, organized, and a strong listener. Team-oriented with excellent follow-through and follow-up skills. within the community. Physical Requirements Primary work location will be a home office or Drop-In Center, with significant community-based meetings and activities. Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., with occasional evenings and weekends required. Flexible scheduling may be approved, particularly during NAMIWalks season. Ability to lift at least 20 pounds. Reliable personal transportation required.Pay:
