Overnight Housing Access Advocate

Hours:

Shifts are 4 nights: Sunday 9pm-10am, Monday 9pm-7:30am, Tuesday 9pm-7:30am, Wednesday 6pm-1am. Mandatory team meetings are held 2 times per month on Wednesday mornings (8:15am-9:30am) rotating between in-person or a virtual option.

Want to make an impact on the lives of others? NB Housing Partners, a non-profit organization in Comal County, is seeking Full-Time positions to provide overnight supervision of a residential program serving adults who are experiencing homelessness. The position will ensure safety, guidance, and oversight of a residential crisis housing program serving up to 66 adults, or up to 85 adults during cold weather.

Requirements/Experience:

1+ years experience in a residential shelter or treatment setting, in homelessness prevention or intervention services 1+ years experience with persons experiencing mental health or substance use issues is preferred. Must be at least 21 years old Minimum of a high school diploma or GED Bilingual preferred Must be reliable with both performance and attendance

Job Duties:

Data entry: logging services, conducting searches for job or housing postings

Security:

conducting routine security checks Basic cleaning duties

Transportation:

providing and/or arranging transport of program participants to/from work or appointments General support: providing supportive guidance for participants, assisting participants with job or housing searches or applying for income benefits, and facilitating crisis intervention as needed

Medication:

providing basic first aid and assisting participants with access to their prescribed medication/logging medication use
