Job Description
Spend your summer being a
SUPER HERO!
Camp Tall Timbers is a private, coed overnight camp for kids 7-16, in the Blue Ridge Mountains, 2 hours west of Washington DC. We are seeking male counselors to join our team for the summer! We are looking for people who enjoy working with children and are capable of instructing an activity at camp. See our website for a list of activities. Our counselors also serve as a big brother to campers and live in a cabin with up to 8 male campers and another college student as a co-counselor. Candidates should enjoy the outdoors and be a great role model for kids. We offer our campers and staff alike a nurturing environment for them to grow and make lasting friendships. We have staff and campers from all over the country and the world, who come together to have a dream summer at Camp Tall Timbers year after year. Length of employment is June 10 2026 to August 8 2026. Earlier start date possible, including free Red Cross Lifeguarding, ropes course, or archery training! Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Room, board and laundry service are provided and included! Job Requirements- must be age 18+
- must have completed a year of college or equivalent, unless they have participated in our CIT2 and Junior Counselor program
- CPR and First Aid certification are desired Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with children in various camp activities
- Implement and adapt lesson plans to cater to the needs of different age groups
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers at all times
- Foster a supportive and nurturing atmosphere for campers to learn and grow
- Collaborate with other staff members to coordinate daily schedules and activities
- Utilize behavior management strategies to address any challenges that may arise
- Create age-appropriate activities and experiences in a stimulating learning environment
- Set good examples with regards to teamwork, using initiative, being proactive and going the extra mile!
