Oxy-Fuel & Plasma Cutting Specialist

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Oxy-Fuel & Plasma Cutting Specialist to join our fabrication and manufacturing team to run our Messer CNC cutting table. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for executing precise oxy-fuel and plasma cutting operations on various materials, including sheet metal to support construction, manufacturing, and assembly projects. Your expertise will ensure high-quality cuts that meet strict specifications and industry standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about metal fabrication, welding, and mechanical processes to contribute to complex projects in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Locating materials moving & handling materials (sheets of plate steel & aluminum) with forklifts and overhead cranes Positioning & aligning materials on a 20 foot cutting bed Cutting scrap plate with saw & hand torches Swapping & assembling the correct cutting tips for the plate you are cutting Transferring heat numbers & plate specifications from the original plate to each part & remaining portion of the plate Measuring and ensuring parts meet the original specifications and design on the drawing Organize parts so they are grouped by the job they are for Communicating and transporting the parts to the correct area Notifying the appropriate people when all the parts for a job are ready. Skills Basic Computer Skills Ability to drive a forklift Ability to stand 10 hours a day Good communication skills Ability to read design drawings Familiarity with oxy-fuel & plasma cutting processesPrevious experience with CNC cutting equipment, oxy-fuel burning processes & plasma cutting is preferred, but not required.

Pay:

$18.00 - $25.00 per hour
