Schedule:
three 8-hour days per week (Thursday + 2 weekdays to be determined by team lead)- CPS certification can be obtained within 1 year of hire!

PART TIME EMPLOYEES

JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY
The Certified Peer Specialist- PT/PRN assists with service coordination and service delivery to those receiving peer support services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or GED.Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of paid experience working with individuals in a behavioral health program.
- Training experience and/or attendance at consumer conferences preferred .
- Desire to disclose a lived experience with behavioral health services and/or recovery orientation.
Licenses, Certifications & Clearances:
- Certified Peer Support (CPS) Certification (must already have OR be able to obtain within 1 year of hire)
- Act 33/34 Clearances
- FBI Clearance
- Valid State of PA Class 1 Drivers License
- Access to properly insured motor vehicle for client transportation and fieldwork and a safe driving record

Substance Abuse Requirements:
- Knowledge of community support systems/resources (local meetings, options, etc.).
- Ability to identify and support symptoms of the MISA population.
- Ability to identify and support differences in the MISA population compared to the SPMI population.
- Ability to identify symptoms of and support those who experience co-morbid symptoms.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures the opening/closing of the center and performs appropriate appliance checks.
- Provides certified peer support to those requesting this service.
- Communicates with consumers, therapists, and the support staff providing services.
- Assists consumers with the development of personal goals and seeking additional resources that support said goals.
- Reports to both the Direct Supervisor and Recovery Manager for ongoing case-consultation and support.
- Encourages consumer participation and assertiveness/advocacy development.
- Distributes information regarding recovery-oriented services and linkages to those receiving services.
- Maintains records and files according to the provisions of the setting/position.
- Addresses all issues of fraud, waste, and/or abuse as they arise and proactively looks for ways to prevent instances of fraud, waste, and abuse in the service delivery system and work systems of the agency as described in the agency Compliance Plan.
