Position Summary:
As a Navy Engineering Navigation Technician with experience in LINUX, Windows and VME, support the U.S. Navy at the Philadelphia shipyard in the design, development, installation, testing and troubleshooting of Control, Navigation and Network systems on U.S. Navy ships. The selected candidate will be interfacing with U.S. Navy civilian engineers, program managers and logisticians as well as equipment manufacturers.Security Clearance Requirements:
U.S. citizenship required Active U.S. DoD security clearance required (Security clearance eligibility may be considered on a case-by-case basis.)Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Provide system installation, testing and troubleshooting support. Perform software and hardware integration testing. Develop and execute test procedures. Strong focus on remote support/troubleshooting as well as on-site support for Navy ships. Interface with U.S. Navy engineers, OEMs, and vendors to prepare equipment for installation, testing and troubleshooting.Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
(Provide LCAT requirements & must haves.) 3-5 years experience Solid electrical and computer engineering background and experience (LINUX, Windows and VME (VERSAmodule Eurocard)) Experience with troubleshooting electrical circuits using appropriate tools Experience with comprehensive systems troubleshooting Ability to read schematics, wiring connection lists, etc. PLC experience (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Modicon, etc.) Preferred Education, Skills and/orExperience:
(Provide nice-to-haves.) Prior military service related toIBS/INBS
preferred Knowledgeable of software development process QA type experience (identifying excessive cable bend radius, proper installation of equipment, etc.) Computer/Electronics experience with A+ or Security + certificationPhysical Demands and Expectations:
Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting Ability to speak, read, hear, and write with or without assistance Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax, and other office equipment This position description re present s a summary of the major components and requirements of the outlined job.
