Packer

The Packer's responsibilities includes, but are limited to assisting in packing large parts and making small standard boxes and pack standard parts. Assisting in preparing, protecting, and packing machinery and equipment for shipment. This role could involve planning and constructing custom containers to ensure safe transport, often requiring specialized bracing and packaging solutions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and pack machinery and sensitive apparatus for domestic and international shipment Construct custom crates, boxes, and skids based on shipment specifications Use powered carpentry tools to build packaging to special order Ensure all packaging meets safety, quality, and shipping requirements Work independently to complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently Maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with company safety guidelines Qualifications 2 to 3 years of experience building crates, boxes, or skids using powered carpentry tools Experience packing heavy or delicate equipment preferred Ability to read and follow specifications and work instructions Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision The successful candidate will have previous experience utilizing powered carpentry tools (Table saws, band saws, belt sanders, nail guns, etc.) to build crates, boxes, and skids. The ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision is required. Overhead crane experience a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver materials weighing up to 50-75 pounds , with or without assistance Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing Ability to use hand and power tools safely for extended periods Manual dexterity and hand‑eye coordination required Ability to work in an industrial environment, including exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures Work Environment Manufacturing and shipping environment Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required Assist in packing large parts, make small standard boxes, and pack standard parts.

Pay:

$30.84 - $31.99 per hour
