Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-PACU Job Type Contract Deliver exceptional patient care and recovery support in a dynamic Post-Anesthesia Care Unit setting. This role involves caring for patients immediately post-surgery, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring safe transitions throughout the surgical continuum.
Schedule/Hours:
36 hours per week 50% day/night rotation Up to 2 weekend shifts per month
Qualifications:
Active RN license Minimum 3 years of professional RN experience At least 1 year of PACU nursing experience as a traveler Experience in an academic medical center is required Strong clinical judgment and adaptability in fast-paced environments BLS and ACLS certifications (current) Demonstrated proficiency caring for post-op surgical patients
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and assess post-anesthesia patients, intervening rapidly with any changes in patient condition Administer medications, fluids, and pain control interventions under established protocols Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and allied health staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes Provide thorough, compassionate patient and family education regarding the post-anesthesia process and discharge instructions Maintain meticulous and timely clinical documentation Ensure strict compliance with infection prevention and hospital safety standards This position offers an outstanding opportunity to work within a respected academic medical center alongside expert perioperative teams.
