POSITION SUMMARY

This position involves maintaining the Cooper Ag Center and farm directly supervised by Cooper Ag Farm Manager. This is a 6 month job.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure safety procedures are followed and personal protective equipment is utilized Property weed control Watering fields Fertilize fields Planting fields Baling fields Livestock care and feeding Security of the premises while working Maintenance of equipment Keeping roads maintained Fencing maintained Small pivot repair Cleaning up debris or other things that would tarnish the look of the Cooper Ag Center. Putting lists together of items needed and giving to the Farm Manager. Student Assistant will not cut nor mow the farm fields.

QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Must be 16 years old or older. Must be able to obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card Osha-10 Agriculture Continuously follows safety procedures & utilizes personal protective equipment Good organizational skills and attention to detail Good communication skills; listening, following directions, and speaking. Ability to lift 50 lbs. is required. Physical capabilities to operate heavy machinery and conduct continuous manual labor.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Completed or enrolled in 3rd year of AgriScience program at CVHS. Knowledge and related experience with farming & heavy machinery desired. OSHA-10 Agriculture Certification Active

Chapter Member with participation in Career & Leadership Development Events.
