Paint Prep Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Paint Prep Technician. As a Paint Prep Technician, you will be responsible for preparing metal parts that are used on gasoline dispensers. This is preparation for the painting process by performing various duties such as heavy lifting, buffing, and metal repair. This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your mechanical knowledge and skills in a fast-paced petroleum equipment environment.

Duties:

• Prepare metal parts for painting by performing tasks such as sanding, masking, and priming
• Assist with the removal of parts and components that are not to be painted
• Clean and maintain painting equipment and tools
• Perform buffing and polishing to ensure a smooth surface finish
• Assist with minor metal repairs, such as dent removal and panel replacement
• Collaborate with the paint team to ensure efficient workflow and quality results
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work area

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in auto body repair or related field is necessary
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards
• Excellent customer service skills to interact with painter and other employees and address their concerns
• Mechanical knowledge of metal and willingness to learn the petroleum equipment industry
• Familiarity with airless paint spraying techniques is a plus
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment We offer competitive pay based on experience.
