Job Description

Job Title Paint Technician Job Type Full-time Job Overview We are hiring a full-time Paint Technician to support the production of modular buildings and shipping container conversions in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for preparing, repairing, priming, and painting shipping containers and related components used in modular office and container-based structures. This is an hourly, non-exempt production position working in a manufacturing environment. Work must be performed safely while meeting quality standards and daily production goals. The ideal candidate takes pride in workmanship, pays attention to detail, and works well in a fast-paced team environment.
Schedule Monday-Thursday:
6:00 AM - 4:30
PM Fridays:
Overtime as needed based on production demands Responsibilities Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements, and safe work practices Maintain clean and organized work areas Identify hazards, quality concerns, or unsafe conditions and report them immediately Prepare shipping containers and metal components for paint Sand, grind, clean, and mask surfaces prior to painting Prime and paint container interiors, exteriors, and related components Repair dents and imperfections using body filler (Bondo) and similar repair materials Perform paint touch-ups and finishing work as needed Operate paint sprayers, sanders, grinders, and other power tools safely and properly Move materials and components safely using forklifts and other equipment as needed Install painted accessories and components including trim, vents, window bars, countertops, and related items Support production flow and help keep units moving on schedule Assist in maintaining paint quality and consistency standards Requirements Proven painting, manufacturing, body repair, or related experience preferred Ability to safely operate paint sprayers, grinders, sanders, and power tools Strong attention to detail and workmanship Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical work throughout the shift Ability to stand, bend, kneel, reach, climb ladders, and work overhead as needed Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Reliable attendance and punctuality required Positive attitude and ability to work well with others Team player mindset with willingness to support production needs Preferred Qualifications Industrial painting experience Automotive paint and body repair experience Experience using spray painting equipment Forklift experience Experience in manufacturing, metal fabrication, modular construction, or container modifications Experience with sanding, masking, and surface preparation Pay Starting at $21.00 per hour Pay is based on experience, skill level, and overall workmanship Benefits / Company Information We are a new and growing small business.
