Mergaert Fabrication Company is a fast-growing metal fabrication company located in Troy, MI. We offer skilled trade services specializing in stairs, ramps and handrails in metro Detroit. Our services including welding, machining, painting and other metal working techniques. We harbor a small, close-knit team of people that all have passion and extensive experience in the industry. What we're looking for: We are seeking a Painter / Shop Hand to become a valued member of our team. The job duties include but are not limited to: HPLV and airless painting of industrial metal parts Surface preparation of metal materials Sanding & deburring products Material handling Some saw cutting operations Interpret shop drawings with dimensions & measurements General shop upkeep: organizing tools and shop equipment, daily cleanups, etc. Working under management to complete tasks assigned.

Physical Demands:

stand, walk, crouch, crawl, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Safety Requirement:

Practicing safety procedures, wearing PPE Required Qualifications High school diploma / GED Basic arithmetic (fractions, decimals, ability to read ruler graduations, addition, subtraction, multiplication & division principles) 1+ years experience with shop environment 1+ years experience with HPLV painting 1+ years experience in a fab shop or manufacturing environment Preferred qualifications 2+ years in similar role What we offer: Up to $23/hr. depending on experience Health + Dental Plans PTO & sick time Performance-based bonus opportunities Family-owned, small business atmosphere
