Duties Engage with clients to assess their financial needs and explain various mortgage options aligned with FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines. Conduct thorough credit analysis, income verification, and property evaluations to determine loan eligibility. Prepare and review loan documentation, contracts, disclosures (including TILA - Truth in Lending Act), and ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations. Collaborate with underwriters to facilitate timely loan approval by providing accurate information and supporting documents. Utilize mortgage software such as Quicken or other financial software to process applications efficiently. Negotiate terms with clients and third-party partners to secure favorable loan conditions while maintaining regulatory compliance. Maintain excellent customer service by guiding clients through each step of the loan process, from origination to closing, ensuring clarity and confidence. Stay current on banking, escrow procedures, mortgage servicing practices, and industry regulations to provide expert advice. Experience Proven experience as a Loan Officer or in mortgage origination within the financial services sector. Strong background in financial sales, negotiation, credit analysis, and loan processing. Familiarity with FNMA guidelines, TILA disclosures, Fair Housing laws, and underwriting procedures. Proficiency in accounting software, financial software like Quicken, and 10-key typing for data entry accuracy. Excellent math skills including basic math calculations essential for credit analysis and contract review. Demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding customer service while managing multiple loan files efficiently. Knowledge of escrow processes, mortgage servicing practices, and banking operations enhances your effectiveness in this role.
