Job Description

Palletizer Position Overview As a Palletizer at Friesen's, you'll play a key role in our production line—you'll be responsible for constructing, preparing, and arranging pallets of finished goods and raw materials—ensuring they are safe, properly stacked, labeled, and ready for shipment or production. Your work supports smooth operations on the production floor and in shipping/receiving. Key Responsibilities Build sturdy pallets manually or with pallet jacks and stretch-wrap machines. Load, stack, and organize materials and finished products onto pallets securely. Apply labels, tags, and documentation to pallets as required. Inspect pallets for structural integrity, stability, and correct identification. Stage pallets in designated areas for shipping or production use. Maintain clean, orderly pallet staging and material handling zones. Perform basic equipment and tool checks (e.g., jacks and wrapping machines). Collaborate with Warehouse, Production, and Logistics teams to meet daily throughput. Follow safety protocols and wear required PPE during all operations.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail in stacking and labeling.
  • Ability to understand and read a tape measure.
  • Basic troubleshooting and machine maintenance skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently or with a team.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver 40-50 lbs. frequently and stand for long shifts.
  • Adherence to safety protocols (lockout/tagout, PPE use).
  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
Preferred Experience Prior experience handling equipment. Carpentry or woodworking background Prior experience building pallets or working with pallet jacks and forklifts or stretch-wrap equipment. Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material handling settings. Familiarity with food or industrial environment standards.
