About Us:
ZOFS Engineering and Land Surveying P.C. is a consulting firm known for delivering top-tier Civil Engineering services. Job Overview The Paralegal will provide comprehensive legal and administrative support to the Client's legal team, ensuring effective delivery of legal services for the Project. This role involves document management, legal support, coordination with internal and external stakeholders, public record request support, and Board support. Responsibilities Organize, maintain, and track legal documents, contracts, and project records using document management systems. Assist with the preparation, editing, and formatting of legal documents, correspondence, and reports. Maintain organized records and files (physical and digital). Assist with billing, invoicing, and budget tracking for legal services. Conduct legal research on statutes, regulations, and case law relevant to infrastructure, environmental, and transportation matters. Summarize findings and provide memoranda to attorneys and project managers. Track receipt of public record request and responses, and appeals and responses Coordinate with Client personnel on the collection of data and documents responsive to document requests; Review responsive documents, identify information to be redacted based upon exceptions under applicable law, in coordination with parties to such documents or having privilege rights, and application of redactions; Prepare responses to requests for records in consultation with attorneys; Draft responses to appeal in consultation with attorneys. Liaise with internal teams (engineering, procurement, project management) and external counsel on deliverables with particular focus on third party agreements necessary for projects. Coordinate with others on the scheduling of meetings with Commissioners; Prepare draft minutes for Board meetings and Committee meetings in consultation with attorneys; Track and maintain Board minutes and resolutions for archiving purposes. Track compliance obligations under federal and state laws, communicate to affected officers and employees compliance responsibilities, and maintain records related to satisfactory completion of compliance obligations; Track compliance obligations under Client contracts, communicate to affected staff compliance responsibilities, and maintain records related to satisfactory completion of such obligations Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; Paralegal Certificate optional. Familiarity with contract administration, public procurement, and regulatory compliance is highly desirable. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal document management software. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
