Job Description
Job Summary Princeton High School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to join our Special Education Alternative Program . This program is designed to support students who require a more individualized and structured learning environment to promote academic, social, and emotional success. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers, support staff, and administration to provide direct support to students, ensuring they receive the necessary accommodations and interventions to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) by providing academic and behavioral support to students. Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to adapt lesson materials and facilitate differentiated instruction. Monitor and support student progress, reinforcing positive behaviors and addressing challenges effectively. Supervise students in various settings, including the classroom, lunchroom, and during transitions. Provide assistance with life skills, social-emotional learning, and adaptive behavior strategies. Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages student growth and development. Communicate regularly with teachers, case managers, and administration regarding student performance and needs. Support the development of independent learning and self-regulation skills in students. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Paraprofessional license or ability to obtain one prior to employment. Previous experience working with students with diverse needs, particularly in a special education or alternative program setting, is preferred. Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Ability to remain patient, flexible, and compassionate while working with students facing academic and behavioral challenges.Job Type:
