Aug 6, 2026 Job Description Special Education Paraprofessional Mountainburg Public Schools is seeking applicants for a Special Education Paraprofessional. Join the Dragon Team to work in a collaborative role within our professional learning community as we ensure high levels of learning and support for all students. The successful candidate will work closely with special education teachers and classroom staff to support students academically, behaviorally, and socially in a positive and structured learning environment. Job Responsibilities Serve as a guide and support for students receiving special education services Reinforce lessons by reviewing material one-on-one and in small groups with students Assist students who need additional help learning specific concepts through lesson adaptation and instructional support Help teachers maintain records for grading, attendance, and student progress Prepare instructional materials and classroom equipment for teachers Monitor and support student behaviors in accordance with classroom and individualized plans Assist with supervision of students during lunch, recess, transitions, field trips, and other school activities Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and administration to support student success Participate in professional development and training opportunities as needed Perform other duties as assigned by administration Qualifications Applicants must meet Arkansas paraprofessional requirements by one of the following: Completion of two years of study at an institution of higher education (60 semester credit hours at a regionally accredited institution), OR Obtaining an associate's degree or higher, OR Presenting a passing score on the ETS ParaPro Assessment
Requirements:
Appropriate level license/endorsements and successful completion of all background checks. Position Details Full-Time Position 181 day contract 7.5 hour daily contract Benefits include: Eligibility to purchase teacher health insurance Eligible to participate in Arkansas Teacher Retirement Sick leave and personal leave annually Application Process Interested applicants should complete an application through the district employment portal and submit all required documentation.
