Do you have a passion for helping all students reach their full potential? Mountainburg Public Schools is actively seeking a LPN for our high school / middle school campus.
Qualifications of Employment:
Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Arkansas. Graduate from an professional nursing education program. Maintains current CPR certification and First Aid Training. Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Resilience and a positive attitude. Superb interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills. The ability to establish rapport and build professional relationships with students. A high degree of professionalism. A growth mindset. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned): Observes special education students on a regular basis to detect health needs. Screens students for health defects, including height, weight, vision, hearing, scoliosis, and kindergarten screenings. Administers medication and treatment prescribed by physicians and oversees procedures for office staff to administer medications in the absence of the school nurse. Conducts parent conferences and maintains liaison between physicians, parents and staff. Makes recommendations to primary care physician on health needs of individual students. Maintains up-to-date cumulative health records on all students requiring nursing intervention, including immunization records and exemptions for religious and medical reasons. Reports to parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics and other agencies on student health matters. Assumes authority, in the absence of a physician, for the care of a student who has suffered an injury or emergency illness. Administers first aid in accordance with established first aid procedures and district policies. Implements board policy on exclusion and re-admission of students in connection withinfectious and contagious diseases. Conducts training for students related to impairments, health and hygiene. Assists school personnel in maintaining sanitary standards in schools. Is available to do health-related lesson presentations in classrooms.
