Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a difference as a Deaf/Blind Intervener providing vital 1:1 support for a 4th grade student throughout the academic year. This contract opportunity—running from August 21, 2026, through June 4, 2027—calls for a dedicated professional passionate about making educational environments accessible and inclusive. With 37.5 to 40 hours per week, you'll collaborate closely with classroom teachers and specialists to ensure the student's needs are met in all areas of school life. Your responsibilities will center around fostering communication access and classroom participation. From adapting instructional materials to supporting transitions and aiding daily routines, you'll be a crucial advocate and ally for your student across academic and social activities.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Experience as a paraprofessional within school settings, especially supporting students with visual and/or hearing impairments Knowledge of communication methods suitable for deafblind students (e.g., sign language, tactile, or technology-supported approaches) Ability to anticipate student needs and proactively assist in diverse classroom scenarios Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, educators, and families Capacity to adapt strategies and tools to ensure full access and participation in all school activities
Key Responsibilities:
