7AM-1PM Job Summary (Lead Teacher | K-1 | Special Education Support) We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Lead K-1 Elementary Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. In this role, you will lead instruction and provide purposeful academic and behavioral support to students with diverse learning needs, including students with developmental disabilities, autism, and other special needs . As the Lead Teacher, you will create engaging learning experiences that strengthen early literacy, foundational math skills, social development, and emotional well-being , while collaborating with support staff and families to ensure students thrive. Responsibilities (Assistant Teacher | Elementary K-1) Assist with deliver daily of instruction for students in Kindergarten-1st Grade , designing engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards and early learning goals. Assist with implementation of differentiated lesson plans that support a wide range of learners, including students with autism, developmental disabilities, and other special needs . Create a structured, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and motivated to learn. Implement and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) by collaborating with service providers and adapting instruction to meet individual learning needs. Use effective classroom management strategies, including positive reinforcement and proactive behavior supports, to build strong routines and promote student success. Provide instruction and support in early literacy, foundational math skills, and social-emotional learning , using developmentally appropriate teaching methods. Facilitate small-group and one-on-one learning to strengthen academic growth, communication skills, and independence. Collaborate with paraprofessionals and support staff to ensure consistent implementation of classroom expectations and student support strategies. Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, behavior, and skill development to support parent communication, team meetings, and IEP updates. Incorporate hands-on learning, movement, and interactive activities to keep students engaged and actively participating throughout the day. Communicate professionally and effectively with families, school staff, and specialists to support student growth and overall classroom success. Prepare and organize classroom materials and learning spaces to promote independence, creativity, and active learning. Experience (Preferred Qualifications for Lead Teacher | K-1) Prior teaching experience in a classroom setting (K-1 preferred) Strong knowledge of child development, early childhood education, and elementary instructional best practices . Experience supporting students with disabilities, including knowledge of IEP implementation, accommodations, and differentiated instruction . Proven ability to teach foundational literacy skills (phonics, reading readiness, comprehension) and early math concepts (number sense, counting, basic operations). Experience working with students diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder or developmental delays strongly preferred. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive, structured learning environment. Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with parents, therapists, paraprofessionals, and school leadership.
Pay:
$14.00 - $16.00 per hour
